Ethnobotanical study of plants used for treating intestinal worms in Ibadan, Nigeria

Poverty and poor sanitation in sub-Saharan Africa are the main reasons for parasitic infection prevalence. Medicinal herbs have been sources of natural cheaper remedies treatment many infections, including intestinal parasites. The study aimed to document medicinal used treating worm infections Ibadan metropolis through an ethnobotanical survey. three traditional herb markets, Oje, Oja Oba Iwo Road, city, were purposively selected respondents, who mainly sellers, interviewed using structured questionnaires. information obtained included demographic information, names plants worms, plant parts, dosage method preparation. data collected was analysed descriptive statistics Relative Frequency Citation (RFC), Use Value (UV) Informant Consensus Factor (ICF) mentioned calculated. survey revealed 45 that worms Ibadan. These belong 31 families. most frequently with their RFCs Cryptolepis sanguinoleta (Lindl.)
